Graduate students Corey Smithson and Ty Hosler presented posters at the 2023 Science for Solutions Conference hosted the Utah Division Air Quality in Salt Lake City on March 30, 2023. Corey presented research on urban canopy modeling in the Salt Lake Valley. This research studies the effects of increased urbanization on local temperatures and wind speeds. Ty presented research on modeling dust emissions from the Great Salt Lake shoreline. This research evaluates the influence of different soil properties on dust emissions during high wind events.
